Frequently Asked Questions
What is this program all about?
First, you have to study our RN success package and then sit the
RN examination in London. After you have passed the NCLEX RN, we
will help you to find an employer in USA. In some cases we will
be able to start on your green card application, prior to you passing
the NCLEX RN, but after you have signed a contract with your US
employer.
Do I have to be a registered General Nurse to qualify for an
American nursing license?
Yes. All nurses in America are trained to a general level. If you
are a RMN, RSCN (Child nurse), Midwife etc, you will need to become
double trained in order to qualify.
I am a registered mental health nurse; will I qualify for nursing
in America?
No. You must be a registered general nurse to qualify for nursing
in the USA
I am a registered midwife; will I qualify for nursing in America?
No. You must be a registered general nurse to qualify for nursing
in the USA
How long does the whole process take?
As it stands at the moment if a nurse does not have the NCLEX or
CGFNS exam the process can take up to two years. If a nurse already
has either of these exams then the process can be fast tracked.
Should I take the NCLEX-RN first or IELTS first?
You should take the RN first. Because the immigration procedure
normally takes 9-15months (could be shorter).During this waiting
period you can study IELTS.

How should I start studying the program?
You should start with the medical terms if you don't have the basics
of Medical English. You can come over to Job Connections to get
some training which is included in the fee you have paid. The average
study period for medical terms is two weeks.
What should I do if I encounter or have any difficulties when
I am studying?
You can call or e-mail your tutor whenever this arises who will
advise you appropriately.
When can I sit the exam?
After reviewing your study materials, you need to do at least 5,000-6,000
test questions. You should achieve an accuracy rate of 75% before
you sit the exam.
What happens if I fail my NCLEX?
You can re-sit your NCLEX up to 3 times, after 90 days of your
previous exam
What happens if I fail the exam, who is going to pay for the
next exam?
The fee you have paid includes a single examination fee. It will
be up to you to pay for any subsequent exams.
How do I obtain a green card to work in the USA?
To obtain a green card you will first need a sponsoring USA hospital
or facility. The hospital will provide you with a job offer letter,
which will state your job title, salary and hours to be worked and
any other terms and conditions. Once you have this then our attorney
can file for your green card.
Do I have to pay for my green card?
Most of our client hospitals pay for the sponsoring of the nurses
green card. However, you are responsible for the costs incurred
at the US embassy once you have your approval notice. This will
involve both a filing fee and medical fee for each person petitioned
for.
When I have my green card when can I go to the USA?
Once you have your green card you can either go the next day or
you will have 6 months in which to activate it.
If I have passed the NCLEX and hold a Texas license but wish
to work in a different State what do I do?
All licenses are transferable to other States. You just need to
apply for Licensure by Endorsement Application Forms from the State
you wish to transfer to. This should then just be a matter of completing
an application form and having your original license verified. You
will then receive the license for your chosen State.
What is an Immigrant Visa or Permanent Residency also known
as a Greencard?
An Immigrant Visa is a petition by the employer to sponsor the
individual to work and live as a permanent resident in the United
States.
This allows you and your family members (spouse/children under the
age of 21) to permanently reside and work in America. The common
name is Greencard (even though the card isn't really Green)
Can my family go with me?
Yes. Your spouse and any unmarried child under the age of 21 will
be entitled to a Greencard as your dependent.
What are the rates of pay in the US?
Depends on the location and facility you work for. We have contracts
with hospitals and companies and typical base salaries are as follows:
Hospitals - $24 to $32 hour. Overtime is 1.5 base salaries
Nursing Homes / Long term care facilities & community care -
$17 to $ 25/hr + overtime
Please note that this is not a complete list of questions and that
you are welcome to ask anything that you do not fully understand.
Salaries, rates of pay, accommodation, terms and conditions of
employment will all be detailed in your job offer prior to your
acceptance and before we embark on your Green Card application.
Be sure that you are absolutely clear about your job offer and understand
what is being offered to you as well as what is expected of you.
You are taking an important step in your career and it is our intention
that you succeed in your new job. If you have any questions, PLEASE
COMMUNICATE.
